1. Sodium Cocoate — Coconut-Derived Cleaning Power

What it does: Helps lift dirt, oils, and grease from surfaces.

Derived from coconut oil, sodium cocoate is a surfactant—a cleaning ingredient that helps water carry away dirt and oils. It also helps the cleaning ingredients work together when the concentrate is diluted.

2. Sodium Chloride — Simple Table Salt

What it does: Helps maintain the consistency of our cleaning concentrate.

Yes, ordinary salt! Sodium chloride plays a supporting role by adjusting the formula's ionic strength and helping maintain the desired consistency.

3. Vegetable Glycerine — Plant-Derived Formula Support

What it does: Helps support the consistency and handling of the cleaning concentrate.

Vegetable glycerine, also called glycerol, is a plant-derived ingredient that helps retain moisture and can serve as a supporting solvent in a formulation. We use it as part of our traditional cleaning base.

4. Citric Acid — Helps Balance the Formula

What it does: Helps maintain the formula's pH and supports cleaning performance.

Citric acid is commonly used in household cleaners and can help with mineral deposits, soap residue, and hard-water buildup. In our cleaning base, it helps maintain the appropriate acidity.

5. Sodium Gluconate — Helps Handle Hard Water

What it does: Helps prevent dissolved minerals from interfering with cleaning.

Hard water contains minerals such as calcium and magnesium that can make cleaning less effective. Sodium gluconate is a chelating agent: it binds with certain minerals to reduce their interference with the cleaning ingredients.

What it does: Provides purified water for a consistent formulation.

Reverse osmosis passes water through a specialized membrane to reduce many dissolved minerals and impurities. Starting with purified water helps us maintain consistent quality from batch to batch.

What We Choose to Leave Out

Our original cleaning base is formulated without added synthetic fragrances or dyes, phthalates, parabens, sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), triclosan, ammonia, phosphates, or formaldehyde.
